A lavender vodka drink? Amazing! Can you tell me the restaurant? I'll be in Denver in a couple of weeks and I'd love to try it!
Oh wonderful! The restaurant is Olivea. I know they change their menu up according to the seasons. I had it during the summer. I’m sure they’d be able to make it regardless of whether it is on their menu or not.
Actually, this makes me think I should definitely head there later this week to make sure they would be able to make it. Would hate to send you on a wild goose chase. I guess Happy Hour it is!
After a very long day at work, a crummy attitude I couldn’t shake and some pretty sore should-have-stretched-hamstrings it was absolutely wonderful to come home to my Tumblr EatUp treats.
Cher sent me the best shortbread thumbprint cookies. Some with grape jam, others with mango jam and a few with both. They are scrumptious! Definitely a successful experiment. I recommend making them many more time!
I will regret this statement in say 4 months. But for now, I stand confidently behind my declaration.
I’ve been struggling with this statement for awhile now. Causally mentioning it to my boyfriend (who shares a similar distaste when it comes to being hot) and getting a sharp, “Really?!?!”.
See, the thing is, I don’t really like summer. One could say I hate summer. Of the 4 seasons it has always ranked the lowest on my favorite season scale (Fall, Spring, Winter, Summer - if anyone cares). I hate being hot. I sweat like a stuck pig. I have a serious problem with being sticky. I have some pretty ridiculous, yet serious body image issues which result in being uncomfortable in tank tops and shorts (and being uncomfortable about my appearance causes more sweating). In general, I usually give a big thumbs down when it comes to summer. I begin to dread the heat once the first 80 degree day appears.
After a mid-afternoon walk to the post office (also to escape the boring monotony that has been my job this week) I was visualizing cute summery outfits (mainly just the flip flops and sandals), happy hours on patios sipping margaritas and other cool and refreshing cocktails, evenings spent with the boy at baseball games, backyard bbq’s, camping and hiking, boating with the boy’s family, etc.
I found myself impatient waiting for these things. I want them NOW. As in tomorrow NOW. Not sure if the amazing Denver forecast this week will help tide me over or will just make the yearning worse.
I will regret this in 3 months, but, HERE’S TO SUMMER!
“You are never really a liberal if you treat women differently. If you hold them to different more difficult standards than you hold men to, than you hold yourself to. You are something else. You are an emosogynist. It is nothing to be proud of. This is what is so horrible and insidious about Bill Clinton and John Edwards. It’s why I hate Bill Maher so much. If you deny women the same personhood you give yourself, you are not a liberal. You are not a revolutionary. You are not an outlaw or a gangster or anything cool. You are just a misogynist in a sweater and fuck you, seriously, for real.”—Molly Lambert is killing it lately. (via filigree)
