The St. Francis Center in Denver is a day-center which provides services to help individuals meet their basic needs and transition out of homelessness. SFC provides many important services, one of the most basic being a shower and a fresh pair of socks.
You can donate a pair of new socks to the following locations until December 31st:
* Ellen Bruss Design, 2500 Walnut Street * Monigle Associates, Inc., 150 Adams Street * Gensler, 1625 Broadway, Suite 400 * Mighty Fudge Studios, 1017 Pearl Street in Boulder

Hey tumblr eat-up buddy!
Your package should be arriving today so I hope you're excited! I accidentally taped it up before dropping my note in, so this will have to substitute for the note that I had prepared. I got a little creative with my baking and it didn't turn out as cute as I'd hoped but still delicious IMHO, so I hope you enjoy.
YEAH!!! I’m so excited! I lOVE snickerdoodles!
I also apparently love CAPS LOCK and Exc!lam!tion! points!
I’m a Political Science Master’s Degree holder. Along with a double Bachelor’s in Poli Sci and History. Neither of these are job builders. They just make me better than average at Trivial Pursuit.
Luckily Denver has Geeks Who Drink. A nightly pub quiz with multiple locations around Denver (and other places).
Luckily I have amassed a group of three others who are as geeky (if not more) than myself and enjoy late nights in bars on school nights.
We each have our specialties: N - sports, music, all things Roman G - video games, music, really really bad movies C - random Jimmy Buffet knowledge Me - random history, token girl, I’m also the secretary and usually the one that texts time and location which makes me feel like I’m contributing
**Also A who makes frequent guest appearances - music, chick flicks, incredibly bizarre random facts
Not to brag, but we’re pretty good. Placing in the top 3 usually means a gift certificate to the bar which is our real motivation. We also have an uncanny knack for winning the bonus question resulting in some bizarre plastic junk.
I highly recommend checking for locations near you. Due to scheduling conflicts we’ve been trying out a lot of different bars. But our heart will always remain at the British Bulldog.
I also recommend finding a group of six with people who specialize in one if not more of the following: music, movie lines, sports (secret weapon - usually a guarantee), awkward pop culture and the ability to make freakishly good guesses.
So the grand scheme of this blog was always to be the B Sides guide to Denver. The Denver A List features a good deal of douchie places I would prefer not to have to pay a cover to attend. This is supposed to be my contribution. But instead I’m really just reblogging cute and/or awesome photos for the delight of my boyfriend and three other friends who make up my entire followers.
Now that I am at a whopping grand total of 60 posts (only 1 being an actual place to eat at in Denver) I figured I should try to get back to the original point of this blog. Current goal - a B Sides post once a week. No need to worry, the rest of the week will still consist of pictures of cats and shiny things.
Pep Talk: So money is a little tight right now. Ok. You’re going to be fine. Let’s start brainstorming some creative ways to make cash. Hmmmm. You… could… sell your eggs. Or sperm. Or plasma. Or ask for a raise. Or tutor a rich kid. Or put ads on your website. Or pick up coins that fall under…
Seriously creepy how right on she has been this week.
